Awateef vases
Vases are a new type of product that did not exist in culture of traditional weaved Palestinian home objects. The trigger to choose this function was based on the assumption that we are not used to see vase made of natural wicker material. The aluminum insert gives the functionality to the vases and enables ease cleaning and usage. Created shapes are variations and interpretations of classical vase.

Project combines between the metal spinning and laser cut technologies and the handcraft of woven rattan. The specially designed aluminum parts are coated with anodize and the give a contrast to the natural look of the rattan.

The specially designed elements make the weaving process much faster and easier and solve the functional problems. The parts are repeated in whole series, like the base, the metal rings that make the control over the form more precise and the ending which is a key design element in all products.
